If you’re looking for an affordable used car, you’re probably wanting to find something that will give you the most bang for your buck. Therefore, we have put together a list of what we think are the top ten best used cars under $10,000.

The List
This list is a mix of vehicles from full size to compact and it also includes a few luxury vehicles as well. We have something of interest for everyone. The criteria for this list was based on the cost of ownership for each vehicle. These are in no particular order.

1.) 2001-2005 Honda Civic

  • Comes in a sedan, coupe or sporty hatchback
  • Long list of standard features except on the base-level DX
  • Known for its reliability, gas mileage and mechanical simplicity
  • Gas mileage 27-34 1.7 liter 4 cyl.

2.) 2002-2005 Toyota Camry

  • Simplistic look and quiet operation
  • Extremely comfortable with a very smooth ride
  • Known for its reliability
  • Gas mileage 21-30 2.4 liter 4 cyl.

3.) 2005 Mazda 3

  • Lots of power and good on gas
  • Great handling and is fun to drive
  • It has the best interior in the compact car category
  • Gas mileage 24-32 2.0 liter 4 cyl.

4.) 2002-2006 Acura RSX

  • Sporty hatchback with the look and feel of a coupe
  • Superb handling
  • Two engine types – 160 hp 4 cyl. or a 210 hp 4 cyl.
  • Gas mileage 16-32 depending on the type of motor and transmission you choose

5.) 2004 Ford Mustang GT

  • Choose the V6 if you’re looking for power
  • For gas mileage, consider the hybrid. That will likely put you over the $10,000 mark

8.) 2011 Hyundai Accent

  • Well built and full of value
  • A newer car under $10,000
  • Great customer satisfaction
  • Gas mileage 28-34 1.6 liter 4 cyl.

9.) 2004 Honda Odyssey

  • Great mini-van with a roomy interior
  • Very reliable
  • Low maintenance and upkeep
  • Gas mileage 16-23 3.5 liter VTEC V6

10.) 2003-2006 Infinity G35

  • A great luxury car under $10,000
  • Long list of luxury options come standard
  • If you find one in good condition, they’re generally very reliable
  • Gas mileage 20-27. Sedans have a 260 hp 3.5 liter V6 and the coupes have 280 hp V6
